MAINTENANCE

FYI

New brakes often have minor “squeaks” during their break-in period (50-100 miles).

CLEANING

  • Avoid using water.
  • If water must be used (or rain) towel dry and re-apply lubricant.
  • Clean a minimum of once per month and after each ride on/near beach.
  • You may need to clean more often if you are a frequent rider.
  • Use a large, soft paint brush (or soft towel) to remove excess sand and dirt.
  • Wipe down with a “waterless” clean/shine product (most auto parts stores carry multiple brands).
  • Avoid disc rotors – contaminants on pads/rotors make them squeak!
  • Lubricate after cleaning.

LUBRICATION

RECOMMENDED LUBRICANT:

Finish Line “One-Step” Lubricant

  • Apply lubricant to chain, sprocket, cassette, derailleur, and related hardware.
  • Do not apply lubricant to brake rotors and electrical components.
  • Try to avoid lights and leather/rubber surfaces (could cause discoloration over time).
  • Apply monthly (minimum), more if commuting or frequent riding.
  • Always re-lubricate following rain and/or beach riding!

BATTERY CHARGING

Only use the original charger that was provided with your bike.

  • Not all chargers are the same and using the wrong charger could be dangerous.
  • An incompatible charger could damage your battery, the charger, and/or the user.

Do not leave the battery fully charged or on a low charge for extended periods.

  • Keeping a battery fully charged all the time will lower its lifespan.
  • Your battery prefers to be “exercised” – used and charged regularly!
  • Leaving on low (or no charge) may cause your cells to go into “sleep mode” (battery damage).

Avoid extreme temperatures.

  • During a charging cycle the battery should be in a dry environment.
  • Warmer than freezing and not hotter than 110 degrees Fahrenheit (70 is ideal).

Always plug the charger into the bike before plugging into an outlet.

  • When charging is complete unplug from the wall, and then unplug from the bike.
  • Lithium-Ion batteries will last longer with regular use and charging.
  • Best:  Charge when the display shows between 50% – 20%.

Avoid completely draining the battery or leaving with little or no charge.

  • If you occasionally top-off (or run out) that’s ok – just do not make the norm!

Do not leave your battery on the charger longer than necessary to charge.

  • Overcharging could reduce the life of the battery and/or cause permanent damage.
  • We recommend using a timer as a reminder to take the battery off the charger.

Store the battery at 50% charge for prolonged periods.

  • You should charge your battery at least once per month.

TIRE INFLATION

ALWAYS CHECK TIRE FOR MAX PSI

Keep tires properly inflated for the best ride/wear/longevity.

  • Check tires for minimum / maximum pressure limits (PSI).
  • Keep tires within 5% of the MAX PSI to extend the tire life.
  • Check your pressure weekly or prior to each ride.

Never exceed the maximum pressure stated on the tire.

DO NOT EXCEED 50 PSI even if your tire’s “maximum PSI” is higher.

  • Going above 50 PSI will stress the tube and may cause damage.

SCHEDULE SERVICE

Have your bike professionally serviced at least once per year.

  • This is more about your safety than bike performance!
  • You may only need a “lite” tune depending on the bike’s condition.

If your bike is not operating correctly contact us as soon as possible.

Business Hours – National eBike locations are open Tuesday thru Friday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Electric Bicycle Shops – We stock the full line of Mokwheel Electric Bicycles.  Models include all-terrain, fat-tire eCrusers, commuters, cargo, and folding electric bikes (bikes & trikes).  The electric bikes include a variety of styles, frame sizes, and colors.

Mokwheel Bikes

Mokwheel bikes boast an abundance of modern features and a comprehensive two-year warranty.  Several models feature integrated power station technology that allows you to charge your devices whenever you want.  Additionally, many models include UL Lab tested batteries with next-generation Samsung cells and a BMS (Battery Management System) that monitor the health of cells, resulting in longer and safer rides.

Most of the Mokwheel models have torque sensors that provide a more natural and responsive riding experience with improved range. The torque sensors measure the force applied to the pedals on the rotating crank, which can save battery by adjusting power output on the rider’s effort.

Look for other exceptional features such as hydraulic brakes for improved comfort and stopping power, adjustable suspension forks the provide a smoother ride and ability to adjust to different terrain, and well-tuned, transitioning gears that transfer the bike’s exceptional power comfortably in a variety of riding situations and condition.

Headquartered in beautiful Palm Coast, Florida, National eBike is the area’s premier electric bike shop.  Our second location is in Daytona Beach, and a third planned for St. Augustine in 2024.

We have a great selection of electric cruisers, fat tire bikes, commuters, and folding electric bikes and trikes.  You can test all of them for free!  Come see why we are the area’s #1 electric bike shop with the best selection and affordable prices.
